Hakeem Nicks did not practice Wednesday for the New York Giants, but coach Tom Coughlin thinks the veteran wide receiver could be back on the field later this week. Nicks has not played since Week 2 because of swelling in his knee, an injury that came after his missed almost all of the preseason because of an injured foot. The Giants face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.
Hakeem Nicks may practice later in the week, fantasy value rising
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (knee) may practice later this week. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: The Giants have had a revolving door at wide receiver the last few weeks with Ramses Barden, Domenik Hixon and Rueben Randle all seeing an increase in playing time. The fantasy value of those players is linked to Nicks, who could return on Sunday against the 49ers. Fantasy owners should monitor injury reports but Victor Cruz is currently the only sure thing in New York's passing game this week.
