Brandon Weeden could be under increased pressure to perform this season due to reports that Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren will retire after the 2012 season, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. New owner Jimmy Haslam will appoint former Philadelphia Eagles president Joe Banner to replace Holmgen. Homgren advocated the Browns' selection of Weeden in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Mike Holmgren will retire at the end of the season as president of the Browns with Jimmy Haslam stepping in as the organization’s new owner. The pressure could increase on Brandon Weeden to perform, as a result. We break down the fantasy implications.

The 28-year-old rookie has struggled this season. On the year, Weeden is 129-for-231 passing for 1,519 yards passing with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Fantasy Impact: The worry here is that a new front office with zero ties to the quarterback won’t be very lenient with the 28-year-old rookie. If Weeden doesn’t improve his play by season’s end, there could be pressure to bring in outside competition at the position next year.
Of course, this is pure speculation, and the coaching staff that drafted Weeden is still in place for now. Still, Weeden would do himself and fantasy owners a big favor by stepping up his game over the next few weeks. He has made steady improvement since an awful season opener, but perhaps not as quickly as many would like.
