Mike Wallace could have done more to help fantasy owners in Week 7

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace has lackluster Week 7 performance. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

Andy Lyons

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace had a lackluster Week 7 performance versus the Cincinnati Bengals. On Sunday Night Football, Wallace wasn't exactly the impact player he's been known as, averaging under 7.0 yards per catch against their division rival.

Wallace finished with 8 catches for 52 yards and was held out of the end zone, and also had a couple dropped balls. Cincinnati did a pretty good job containing him, not allowing him to kill them with the deep routes.

Fantasy Analysis: Wallace has not lived up to expectations of fantasy owners so far this season. Considering what he did with the Steelers in 2011, the ‘12 season was looking bright for players like Wallace. But most fantasy owners that have him will say he’s underperformed so far. This is no reason to cut him, because Wallace still is a must-start, but he can’t be depended on week-to-week for big time points.

Wallace could still find his stride as the season progresses, and he will have his big games, but they appear to be less frequent.
