Detroit Lions wide out Nate Burleson is out for the season, per Anwar Richardson. The Lions No. 2 pass catcher suffered a broken leg in Week 7, and has to undergo surgery. Burleson will be sidelined for a whole 8 months, which jeopardizes his readiness for the 2013-14 season.

Burleson has been pretty reliable for the Lions, who's main offensive threat is Calvin Johnson. Despite young, high-ceiling receivers being drafted, Burleson had maintained that No. 2 role opposite Johnson. This injury have an affect on the team's long-term plans with the veteran receiver.
Fantasy Analysis: The Lions officially placed Burleson on injured reserve today. His season is over with the team, and therefor his fantasy value is officially terminated. The majority of Burleson owners already knew this, but if you haven’t made the move yet, drop Burleson for the BPA.
This gives Titus Young a shove back into the No. 2 spot where the team hoped he'd be by the beginning of the 2012 season. Young should have the go ahead to start opposite Johnson but it could very well be Ryan Broyles who proves to be the better option in this offense.
