New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles (hand) is out in Week 9 against the Eagles, but it's possible that he could be back as soon as Week 10 against the Falcons. Early reports suggested that Sproles could be out for as long as eight weeks, but Chris Mortenson reports that the versatile back may only be out 1-2 weeks.

The timetable for Sproles return is all over the map, but it could be just one game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Sproles had surgery on his broken hand this week with "normal recovery time" being listed as 4-6 weeks, but Willis McGahee had the same injury in 2011 and missed only one game. It's possible then that Sproles could be back after missing only one game himself.
Fantasy Take: Travaris Cadet is an interesting player that was undrafted but made the team after a highly successful preseaon for New Orleans. This could be his 2012 debut on Monday night, and he could take over return duties for Sproles. This is also the opportunity for the Saints to 'free Chris Ivory.'
Sproles has not been as productive as he was last season, but it's not likely that anyone in the Saints backfield will be able to do exactly what he does. The value for Pierre Thomas will be up for as long as Sproles is out.
