Going into his second year, Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder played his second exhibition game of the 2012 season on Friday. Minnesota faced off against the Buffalo Bills where Ponder went 10-of-13 for 136 yards and a touchdown. But more importantly for the former first rounder, Ponder did not throw an interception in the contest.

Analysis: The Vikings need to see progress from Christian Ponder and they have. The Minnesota QB does not have a lot of competition behind him, so despite his preseason, he will be the starter -- but can he be a worthwhile one? Ponder may prove that he can be a reliable fantasy backup, or at least be a good match-ups player. When Adrian Peterson returns, it should be a load off Ponder's shoulders. Between Kyle Rudolph, Percy Harvin, AP and Jerome Simpson, Ponder has plenty of weapons to help him gather fantasy points.
