New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles likely won't get any preseason touches as he deals with a knee injury. Sproles said that he could play if he had to, but the team feels that it's not worth the risk and probably won't put him into a game until the Saints open up their season on September 9th against the Redskins.
Darren Sproles Will Not Play Until Saints Season Opener: Fantasy Implications
Darren Sproles will likely miss the rest of the preseason but should return by week one. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Implications: Fans have been aware of Sproles for years as a star at Kansas State and then a kick and punt returner for the Chargers, but he didn't break out as a fantasy player until his debut with the Saints last season. Sproles broke the NFL record for All-Purpose yards with 2,696 as he returned kicks, punts, rushed for 603 yards and caught 86 passes for 710 yards. He finished the year with a career-high 10 total touchdowns. If you trust that the season was not a fluke, Sproles is a high-caliber RB2, but it also depends on how your league scores return yards. In the case that returns yards are counted, he's an easy first round pick.
