Packers quarterback Graham Harrell is not only looking to make the Packers opening day roster for the first time, but to win the job backing up Aaron Rodgers. Harrell, undrafted in 2009 and having spent the past two seasons mostly on the Packers practice squad, is being given an excellent chance to win the job by head coach Mike McCarthy since the Packers didn't sign a veteran to replace the departed Matt Flynn. We should be seeing a lot of Harrell and rookie B.J. Coleman during the preseason.

Analysis: Backing up Rodgers is not insignificant. The Packers have the leagues number one offense and Flynn made two high-scoring starts over the last two years as Rodgers backup. This comes on the heels of other notable Green Bay backups like Rodgers, Matt Hasselbeck, and Aaron Brooks. Harrell broke the NCAA record for touchdown passes in the Air Raid offense of Mike Leach, but has yet to throw an NFL pass in his three years since turning pro. Coleman, a seventh round rookie, has impressed coaches but is incredibly raw. If Harrell can't play well enough to win the job, the Packers may be looking to sign a veteran.
