The Carolina Panthers are hopeful running back Jonathan Stewart will return this week after missing Week 1 because of a sprained ankle. Coach Ron Rivera said Monday that there were no guarantees that Stewart would be ready to play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and conceded that the team missed Stewart in Carolina's season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Panthers, Fantasy Owners Hope To Have Jonathan Stewart Back This Week
Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera says there is no guarantee that running back Jonathan Stewart will return for Week 2, but he is hopeful that he will. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: The Panthers really struggled to run the football against Tampa Bay. Receiver Kealoha Pilares had a 5-yard carry, which was good enough to make him the team's leading rusher for the game. Starting running back DeAngelo Williams was held to minus-1 yards on six carries and quarterback Cam Newton managed 4 yards on five attempts. Fantasy owners will have a better idea about his Week 2 value as the week goes along.
