Atlanta Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes is out for the season with an Achilles injury. Grimes, who made the Pro Bowl in 2010, left Sunday's win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth quarter with what described as a calf injury. The Falcons placed the franchise tag on Grimes before the season, ensuring that he would make more than $10 million in 2012. However, the two sides were never able to work out a long-term contract.

Fantasy Impact: Grimes is the top defensive back for Atlanta, which was hoping to improve on its pass defense from a year ago. This injury is a big loss to the defense and negatively impacts the Falcons as a D/ST unit, especially in a division with New Orleans and Carolina. The Falcons face Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in Week 2.
