Adrian Peterson’s 2nd Half Fantasy Production Drops Because Of Score, Not Health

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson saw his number of carries limited in the second half on Sunday because his team was trailing, not because of his health. We break down the fantasy implications.

Minnesota Viking running back Adrian Peterson was healthy on Sunday but didn't get the ball as frequently in the second half because the Vikings were behind, coach Leslie Frazier said on Monday. Frazier said Peterson, who finished with 60 yards on 16 carries, felt good against Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Impact: This is going to happen to the Vikings at times this season, although Peterson's 60 yards and 16 touches isn't the worst fantasy day by any stretch of the imagination. Percy Harvin got a heavy workload in the second half and nearly helped the Vikings rally for the win. As long as he stays healthy, Peterson is still a strong fantasy option but there will be weeks when they will have to go away from him.
