Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart is not yet a sure bet to open the season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Stewart has been out with an ankle injury and coach Ron Rivera says Stewart spent time on Sunday running on a treadmill. Rivera says the team will have a betters sense of how the ankle feels once Stewart is able to start running around on it.
Jonathan Stewart A Wait-And-See RB For Fantasy Football Owners
Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart isn’t a lock to play Week 1 against Tampa Bay. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Stewart and DeAngelo Williams make up one of the better running back tandems in the league but this is why it's a tandem. If Stewart can't play, fantasy owners who have Williams should start him with confidence. If Stewart is healthy, then both players should be considered No. 2 fantasy running backs. The wild card around the goal line for the Panthers is Mike Tolbert, who could get carries from in close, especially if Stewart doesn't play.
