Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is "stretching here at the Meadowlands, in cleats" per Rachel Nichols on Twitter but there is still no update on whether or not the veteran will play against the Giants in the NFL season opener tonight. Witten's status has remained in doubt for weeks after a spleen laceration has kept him mostly inactive for the past month. He has missed just one game in his career.
Jason Witten Stretching Before Game But Week 1 Fantasy Status Still In Doubt
Jason Witten was seen stretching on the sidelines before tonight’s game, but will he play? We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Implications: The news on Witten's injury is not new and he has remained doubtful for long enough that you should have a backup option ready to go if he ends up being listed as inactive for tonight's game. Witten was willing to sign a medical waiver to play tonight but the Cowboys would prefer to play it safe and only play him if he's ready to go. Backups John Phillips and James Hanna would go in his place.
