Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson could be active for their week 1 game against the Jaguars "barring a setback" according to Tom Pelissero of ESPN. Peterson just began taking contact in practice this week after missing most of camp and all of preseason while recovering from ACL surgery. As reported earlier this week, even if Peterson plays, it could be in limited action.

Fantasy Analysis: While it would be nice to see Peterson active week 1, it would be risky to start him since he’s only just starting to take hits in practice and is likely to get few touches against the Jaguars. He is right on the borderline of the eight month recovery time from ACL surgery and most running backs really struggle in their following season. At the very least, this is a wait-and-see situation until Peterson is ready for 20 or more touches per game.
