Arian Foster runs wild for Texans, fantasy owners

The Texans running back Arian Foster was the team’s best player Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jeremy Brevard-US PRESSWIRE

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster turned in a monster performance Sunday in the team's 38-13 loss to the St. Louis Rams. He ran the ball 20 times for 141 yards, adding four catches for 57 yards.

The star running back was held out of the endzone yet again and only has two touchdowns on the season. His longest play came on a reception that went for 41 yards.

Fantasy impact: The game was Foster's second 100 yard performance of the season. Quarterback Matt Schaub had turned in a decent game until he left the game with an ankle injury. Forced to go with inexperienced T.J. Yates under center, the Texans' offense predictably struggled as the third year man couldn't lead a single touchdown drive and threw two interceptions.

Foster’s season numbers are on par with his late first round ADP. Regardless of which quarterback starts, fantasy owners can not expect Foster to put up the abundant number of touchdowns they have enjoyed throughout out his career. He is a legitimate candidate for 20 plus carries in any given week. However, the lack of touchdowns limits him to low-end RB1 upside in standard leagues.
