Andre Johnson turns in another solid, zero touchdown game for fantasy owners

The Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson was once again team’s most reliable receiving option Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson had a productive day Sunday in the team's 38-13 loss to the St. Louis Rams. He caught seven passes for 88 yards on eight targets. He is still yet to score a touchdown on the year.

Johnson could have easily had a bigger game but the Texans got conservative when inexperienced quarterback T.J. Yates entered the game for the injured Matt Schaub.

Fantasy impact: The game was Johnson’s second time eclipsing the 100 yard mark on the season. The only concerning aspect of Johnson’s season is that he is still yet to find the endzone. The 32 year old receiver is slightly past his prime as he is only averaging 11.2 yards per catch this season, well below his career average of 13.6.

Since Johnson can't seem to find the endzone, he is a much stronger play in PPR leagues as he is still averaging 7.3 catches per contest. Tight end Owen Daniels is not expected to return any time soon and rookie first round pick DeAndre Hopkins is a work in progress. Johnson remains the team's best receiving option and is still a WR1.
