Rookie running back Giovani Bernard flashed his explosive play-making against the Bills on Sunday afternoon. Bernard had just 28 rushing yards on 15 carries, but he accumulated 72 receiving yards on six catches along with a touchdown. With veteran BenJarvus Green-Ellis pounding 86 yards on 18 carries, Bernard was able to find open space in the passing game. He proved his elusiveness in the open field by breaking several tackles for his 20-yard touchdown.
Giovani Bernard puts up big fantasy numbers in Week 6
Giovani Bernard managed 100 yards from the line of scrimmage along with a touchdown against the Bills on Sunday. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Bernard has been the favorite in the Bengals backfield since being drafted in the second round of the 2013 draft along with his impressive preseason. The Bengals were curiously pushing Bernard up the middle on a good chunk of his handoffs, resulting in an underwhelming 1.8 YPC. However, Bernard saw more overall touches than Green-Ellis and should continue to play a bigger role in the Bengals offense. Green-Ellis was impressive in his role as a north-south runner, but his value lies in pure rushing yardage and end zone opportunities. Bernard is a solid RB2 with higher upside in PPR leagues as the Bengals prepare for the Lions in Week 7.
