Buffalo's running game didn't bring forth any strong performers on Sunday. Fred Jackson managed just 35 yards on ten carries. He caught four passes for 13 yards. C.J. Spiller also saw 10 carries, but managed 55 yards along with two catches for 11 yards. The Bills gave a share of carries to Tashard Choice as well, managing 24 yards on four carries. The Bengals occasionally gave a big run to any given back, but ultimately held them when it counted most at the goal line.
C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson make up underwhelming fantasy tandem in Week 6
Neither C.J. Spiller nor Fred Jackson found the end zone on Sunday, and both backs found a collective 90 yards on the ground. We take a look at the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: The Bengals have been tough on fantasy running backs all season, so the mediocre output from the Bills backfield shouldn’t entirely be a surprise. Fred Jackson saw his share of goal line work, but was stuffed at the line several times before quarterback Thad Lewis tried running it himself with no results. Spiller is still recovering from an ankle injury and wasn’t flashing his true talents on the field on Sunday afternoon. Expect Spiller to only get closer to full health before facing Miami in Week 7. Both Spiller and Jackson remain flex options as they share carries evenly.
