When the Giants re-signed their former bruising running back Brandon Jacobs off the street earlier this season, he was not expected to play a major role. After a failed stint with the San Francisco 49ers, the 31-year-old veteran was well past his prime and was brought back for depth purposes.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 7: Brandon Jacobs
The Giants running back had a surprisingly productive game last week. Can he do it again? We break down the fantasy implications.

With a neck injury sidelining first-round pick David Wilson, the Giants were forced to once again turn to Jacobs as their feature back. After only receiving 11 carries in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Jacobs saw his workload double last week against the Chicago Bears. He responded by turning some heads by pounding his way for 106 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. What was encouraging about Jacobs' performance was that he averaged 4.8 yards per carry, consistently finding space.
Fantasy Impact: Regardless of whether or not you think last weeks' performance was a fluke, Jacobs is a recommended fantasy start this week. He is facing the Minnesota Vikings shake defense that has given up the most points to running backs this year. Owners can expect to see around 20 carries again. The workload and easy matchup make Jacobs a solid RB2.
