Mike Wallace has a solid day for fantasy owners

The Dolphins wide receiver had a productive game on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace had another productive outing in the team's Week 7 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The former Steeler had five catches for 74 yards, no touchdowns and added one rush for 12 more yards. This is actually Wallace's first moderately productive game in the sense that the boom-or-bust receiver has either cleared 100 yards or caught less than four passes in every other game this year.

Fantasy implications: While Wallace made a decent fantasy contribution for owners, it is important to note that the fellow receivers Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson got just about the same amount of attention from quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The $60 million receiver does not appear to have a feature roll in the offense and has three different games in which he had three or less catches and zero touchdowns.

Wallace will remain a high-upside WR3. In his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wallace average eight touchdowns every year. In his first year with the Miami Dolphins, he has only found the end zone once and that was back in Week 2. The lack of touchdowns and inconsistent target numbers will continue to cap his fantasy value.
