Geno Smith continued his feast-or-famine output in Week 8. After putting up top-ten fantasy numbers in Week 7, Smith threw for 159 yards, two interceptions, and managed just eight rushing yards in the Jets' loss to Cincinnati. Smith was eventually benched in the fourth quarter when the game was well out of reach. Quarterback Matt Simms relieved Smith. Simms completed three out of seven passes for 17 yards and ran for 35 yards in limited playing time.
Geno Smith ends up a fantasy dud in Week 8
Geno Smith threw for just 159 yards and two interceptions against the Bengals on Sunday. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: It was never viewed as an appealing matchup to begin with and Smith wasn't able to prove the pundits wrong. The Bengals defense is tough up front and was able to capitalize on Smith's growing pains all afternoon. Both of Smith's interceptions were returned for touchdowns, and Cincinnati's offense managed five touchdowns that kept the game out of reach for most of the afternoon. Smith has been a roller-coaster, putting up good numbers every other week. He'll remain a QB2 against the Saints in Week 9.
