Le’Veon Bell grinds out 98 yards for fantasy owners in Week 12

Le’Veon Bell managed 98 yards from the line of scrimmage in Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Matt Sullivan

He may have only averaged 3.5 yards per carry on Sunday, but Le'Veon Bell was once again the clear cut workhorse back for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Bell carried the ball 23 times for 80 yards. He added two catches for 18 yards for the afternoon. Bell constantly chipped away at the Cleveland Browns defense throughout Sunday's game, with his longest gain of the afternoon being just 11 yards. The Steelers turned to Jonathan Dwyer for a handful of carries in the second half once the Steelers had a healthy lead over the Browns. Dwyer had six carries for just seven yards and isn't much of a threat to Bell's workload moving forward.

Fantasy impact: Bell isn't a flashy running back, but he fits Pittsburgh's offense well. Sunday's game was simply a reminder that Bell is a physical back capable of getting tough yards whenever needed. Even though he didn't find the end zone for a second consecutive week, fantasy owners were rewarded with enough yardage to keep their rosters afloat for Week 12. He's an RB2 nearly every week, and he'll certainly be worth starting against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13.
