Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams (quad) practiced on Friday and will suit up for the team's Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Williams did not practice on Thursday but will give it a go on Sunday barring a setback.
DeAngelo Williams injury update: RB listed as probable, will play for fantasy owners
The Carolina Panthers running back will play on Sunday but will be part of a suddenly crowded Carolina backfield. We break down the fantasy implications.

Williams is having a mediocre season and does not provide fantasy owners with a ton of upside. To make matters worse, fellow running back Jonathan Stewart (ankle) is expected to be activated from the PUP list and will take some of his carries. Mike Tolbert is also expected to be in the mix.
Fantasy Impact: How Carolina will divvy up the carries among the three running backs this week is anyone’s guess. Williams is averaging a respectable 4.2 yards per carry and 16 rushes per game. With Stewart back in action, Williams’ carries are going to be reduced. To what extent is not yet clear.
When three running backs are sharing the rushing load, it usually makes for low production across the board. While the Panthers could ease Stewart back into the action, Williams will still not be a recommended fantasy play. He is a low-end RB2/flex play and owners should look elsewhere.
