Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery (shoulder) practiced all week and will start on Sunday in the team's Week 9 match up against the Buffalo Bills. Avery has been battling the shoulder injury, but is yet to miss a game. He will continue to be quarterback Alex Smith's No. 2 option behind Dwayne Bowe.
Donnie Avery injury update: Listed as probable, will play for fantasy owners
The Kansas City Chiefs receiver practiced in full this week and will start in Week 9. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Implications: Just as one would suspect, the number two receiving option on a run-first offense is not someone who should be relied upon for solid fantasy production. Avery managed to find the end zone once during Week 1. With the exception of his Week 3 outlier performance of 7/141, Avery hasn’t had more than three receptions in a single game this season. Top receiving option Dwayne Bowe would be the one Kansas City receiving option to target as a low-end flex play. However, as his owners are already well aware, Bowe has also proven to be far from a fantasy asset this season.
Even against Buffalo's soft secondary, Avery should not be seen as a fantasy option this week. With star running back Jamaal Charles averaging over 100 yards from scrimmage in every game this season, owners can surely do better than Avery.
