Detroit Lions running back Joique Bell got a surprise start in place of Reggie Bush who aggravated his calf right before the game. He wasn't particularly effective with his 23 carries, which yielded only 69 yards, but he managed to find the end zone once and added four catches for another 58 yards. The snow played a factor as his longest run went for only 8 yards and he could have had another touchdown or two had he not fumbled and lost the ball twice in the red zone.
Joique Bell provides decent fantasy production in surprise start
The Lions running back started for the injured Reggie Bush and had a solid outing. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: 127 all-purpose yards and a touchdown from a backup running back isn’t something for fantasy owners to complain about. Bell now has seven touchdowns on the year. At nine carries per game, Bell’s role isn’t large enough for him to be considered an asset that owners can rely on for production.
Bell also didn’t do himself any favors by coughing the ball up twice. He’s always a candidate to provide owners with a touchdown, but he’s still a risky playoff option in his backup role. Bell will be a weaker flex play if Bush suits up next week and on the mid-range RB2 radar if Bush is ruled out.
