The Ravens signed wide receiver Brandon Stokley to a one-year deal Sunday, adding a familiar face for offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell to use in the passing game. They spent four seasons together with the Colts, dating back to 2003.
Ravens add Brandon Stokley, fantasy value still up in the air
Baltimore added a new receiver who can fill an important roll on the depth chart. We break down the fantasy implications.

After Dennis Pitta went down for the year, Joe Flacco lost one of his biggest weapons. Anquan Boldin is also gone, so the signing of Stokley makes sense. He'll battle Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson for playing time.
Fantasy impact: Stokley fills a significant need for the Ravens. According to Mike Clay of Pro Football Focus, Boldin lined up in the slot 57 percent of the time last year. Pitta was in the slot for 43 percent of his snaps. Stokley can step in right away and serve as a reliable slot receiver.
Fantasy owners shouldn’t get too excited, because regular season Flacco doesn’t turn many of his weapons into fantasy studs. Pitta’s absence leaves room for more targets, though. Keep an eye on Stokley’s production for the remainder of the preseason.
