San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver and fourth-round pick Quinton Patton made his preseason debut on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings and did not disappoint, catching four passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Quinton Patton impresses in preseason debut, improves fantasy value
Are there enough targets to go around in San Francisco’s offense to make Patton a viable fantasy option?

Patton did most of his damage working out of the slot, where the 49ers have a need for a player that can run clean routes and get separation. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick gave Patton glowing reviews on his first NFL game.
“He is a great player,” Kaepernick said. “He is someone he just knows football. He knows how to get open. He knows how to make plays. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.
“He is someone that it is easy to have chemistry with. He knows where windows are in defenses. He knows how to get open.”
Fantasy spin: Patton may have a tough time getting targets with a lot of mouths to feed in the San Francisco offense. But if he continues to play like he did on Sunday and develops the trust of his quarterback, the 49ers will have a hard time keeping the rookie off the field.
During his time at Louisiana Tech, Patton was mostly an outside receiver, but his skill set and size make him a nice fit for the slot, which he showed last night.
