Titans running back Chris Johnson carried the ball two times for 60 yards on Thursday in Tennessee's preseason opener against the Redskins. Almost all of those yards came on a 58-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Johnson is not averse to big plays; He had the longest runs in the NFL (91, 94 yards) in the 2009 and 2012 seasons.

With another strong outburst, Johnson reminds us of when he was better than everyone else. But can he put together a full season of this?

But the bigger issue for Johnson is consistency. After running for 2,006 yards in 2009, he has averaged “only” 1,218 yards per season in the last three years, on 4.3 yards per carry.
Fantasy Take: One long run in a preseason game won’t all of a sudden make Johnson a good bet to lead the league in rushing again. He already is one.
Despite his reputation, Johnson is still an elite back that is just 28-years-old and a good option for your first round pick. The Titans also did a major overhaul on their offensive line by signing guard Andy Levitre away from the Bills and drafting guard Chance Warmack with the tenth overall pick.
Johnson is a good pick as your RB1, especially if he can eliminate all of those runs that go nowhere.
