The Denver Broncos took care of business Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens, and one player who jumped on fantasy football radars was tight end Julius Thomas. The Broncos new No. 1 tight end caught five passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
Julius Thomas fantasy performance puts him on waiver wire radars
Newly minted No. 1 tight end Julius Thomas hauled in five catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns. We break down the fantasy implications of this performance.

As surprising as it might seem after the fact, the Broncos were in a close contest at one point, and actually trailed 17-14 at halftime. They were even that close thanks to Thomas’s first half performance. His two touchdowns and all but 13 of his yards came in the first half.
Fantasy Impact: Welcome to one of the most popular men on the waiver wire! Thomas was popping up on radars, but was still a fairly deep sleeper. A day later, Thomas is going to be among the most popular waiver wire players, even as “just” a tight end. There are enough question marks at tight end that you can be certain he will go quickly when waivers runs next Tuesday.
If you already have him on your roster, you have to be excited by what you saw. Even as Peyton Manning was force-feeding Wes Welker, he continually found Julius Thomas. The Broncos travel to face the New York Giants in Week 2. You can’t guarantee another performance like this, but if you are otherwise shaky at tight end, it might be worth a roll of the dice next week with this offense.
