Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery participated in practice albeit in a limited fashion on Thursday, according to beat writer Brad Biggs. Jeffery hasn’t played since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1.
Alshon Jeffery limited in practice on Thursday, expected to return to fantasy lineups
Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery participated in Thursday’s practice and is expected to return to game action this week. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: With quarterback Jay Cutler also on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, the Bears need some offensive players other than Matt Forte in the lineup in order to salvage the season. Coach John Fox won’t confirm or deny whether the quarterback will play, and Jeffery’s status is considered questionable at the moment as well.
With Brandon Marshall moving on to the New York Jets, Jeffery is the best weapon the Bears have in the passing game outside of Forte. He’s proven that he can handle a high volume of targets, but first thing’s first -- Jeffery needs to be in the lineup in order to produce.
Fantasy owners won’t know until Sunday whether he’ll play, but the fact Jeffery practiced on Thursday is encouraging. Stay aware of his status as well as Cutler’s going forward and start Jeffery if he plays.
