Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin sat out practice on Thursday thanks to a knee injury suffered at practice on Wednesday, according to beat writer Scott Smith. Coach Lovie Smith stated that Martin should be ready to play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4.
Doug Martin misses practice on Thursday, should still play for fantasy owners on Sunday
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin hurt his knee in practice on Wednesday and sat out practice on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: While some in the fantasy community expected Martin to have a bounce-back year and be a healthier version of himself this season, things just haven’t translated for him on the field.
Through three games he has just 176 yards rushing, which represents an average of 58.7 yards per game. Those numbers don’t win fantasy owners any matchups, especially when they come without any touchdowns. It’s pretty incredible to think that, just a few years ago, Martin was considered the top up-and-coming running back in fantasy football.
If he is limited in any way on Sunday, teammate Charles Sims will get more touches. Sims rushed for just 11 yards last week but his fantasy day was saved when he picked up two receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown in the passing game. Neither back is going to light up the scoreboard this Sunday. That said, Sims might be the better option if you have to start somebody.
