New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. would not have practiced on Wednesday had the team had one scheduled, according to coach Tom Coughlin, via Jordan Raanan of the Newark Star-Ledger.

The Giants are suddenly thin at wide receiver with injuries to Beckham and Rueben Randle. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Giants play on Monday night, which pushes their usual practice schedule back one day. Beckham would benefit from the extra rest, since he injured his hamstring when celebrating a touchdown on Sunday night, but he did reenter the game later. The nature of Beckham’s injury is especially noteworthy, since a hamstring injury kept him out of action in 2014, delaying his NFL debut through the summer until Oct. 5. It is still unclear if Beckham will play, but Raanan’s report indicated optimism:
“The trainers seem to think he’s made good progress. He wouldn’t practice [Wednesday if there was one], no,” Coughlin said. “Hopefully we’ll get some work in before the end of the week. All we can do is hold out with the fact that he is a very competitive young man and if it’s at all possible, he’ll be ready to play.”
Fantasy impact: Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Beckham’s status will likely be determined close to game time. Because the Giants play the final game of the week, fantasy owners could find themselves out of luck and devoid of options if the Giants’ No. 1 receiver can’t play.
With Rueben Randle also dealing with a hamstring injury, expanded roles can be expected for Shane Vereen, Larry Donnell and Dwayne Harris. In the meantime, Beckham's owners will have to keep injury reports close by.
