New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is not practicing with the team on Friday, according to NJ.com's Jordan Raanan.
Odell Beckham Jr. misses Friday’s practice, fantasy status becoming murkier
The Giants’ No. 1 receiver missed his second straight practice on Friday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Beckham also sat out on Thursday, but was seen doing light work on the side. The Giants' premier receiver exited and reentered Sunday night's game vs. the San Francisco 49ers after injuring his hamstring during a touchdown celebration, but his status for this Monday night against the Eagles is unknown. It isn't out of the realm of possibility for Beckham to play without practicing, but his chances cannot be considered good if he does not get in one practice session on Saturday.
Fantasy impact: The outlook continues to look grim for Beckham’s prospects among fantasy leagues, but it is still too early to determine if he should be on fantasy benches or in lineups. If Beckham sits on Saturday, owners would be playing with fire if they penned him into a starting spot, since a viable backup plan is not handily available for many after all but one game has been played for the week.
If Beckham plays at his usual capacity, he is a WR1, but fantasy owners have no way of knowing that at this time. If Beckham sits or is limited, boosts can be given all around to Rueben Randle, Shane Vereen and Larry Donnell.
