Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins did not practice Wednesday, according to Tyler Dunne of The Buffalo News.
Sammy Watkins sits Wednesday practice, fantasy owners again need a backup plan
After catching a touchdown pass in Week 6, Sammy Watkins was held out of action and could miss Week 7 as well. We break down the fantasy implications.

It raised eyebrows that Watkins made the trip in the first place to London with the team, especially given that he was on crutches by halftime of Week 6, and seen in a walking boot after the game. Watkins has dealt with a calf injury that seems to have snowballed into an ankle injury, making it difficult to expect him to suit up for Week 7 despite making the trip.
Fantasy impact: With Percy Harvin ruled out for Sunday, expect the Bills to lean on their ground game as much as possible while their receivers get healthy. Chris Hogan and Robert Woods are expected to start in place of them, and tight end Charles Clay should dominate the targets once again and be a solid TE1 option.
Watkins has the benefit of a Week 8 bye, so it’s reasonable for the Bills to take it slow with their former first-round pick regarding Sunday’s game. Once Watkins returns to the lineup at his usual capacity, he will be firmly in the WR2 discussion. For now, fantasy owners just have to wait.
