New York Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle was limited in practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury.
Rueben Randle returns to practice, would be uninspiring fantasy flex on Sunday
The Giants will have to manage the reps of their top two wideouts during the week. We break down the fantasy implications.
Randle sustained the injury in Week 5, but took the field for half of the Giants snaps on Monday night despite it. He was also held out of practice on Wednesday, as the team attempts to keep its receiving corps fresh for gameday, since Randle and Odell Beckham, Jr. are both dealing with injuries of the same nature. Barring any setbacks, Randle should suit up on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy impact: Despite Victor Cruz being sidelined, Randle has not grabbed the WR2 job by the horns. He has capitalized with a pair of touchdowns and a 100-yard game in 2015, but has posted a modest 24/261/2 line through six games, making him a matchup-dependent WR3 at best, going forward.
Randle would need Beckham to miss time to turn into an attractive fantasy option, but until then, he remains an uninspiring flex for Week 7, especially if he doesn’t get onto the field for more snaps than he did in the previous week.
