St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin is officially active for Sunday's matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
Tavon Austin injury update: Rams WR is active for fantasy owners Week 7
The Rams’ Swiss Army knife will suit up Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Austin missed Wednesday and Thursday’s practice sessions with a thigh injury, raising the eyebrows of fans and fantasy owners. Despite that, Austin returned at a limited capacity on Friday before ultimately getting the green light on Sunday morning. Austin’s involvement in the offense has increased exponentially alongside the emergence of running back Todd Gurley.
Fantasy impact: It’s still very possible that Austin gets a limited workload on Sunday. However, the Browns are dealing with a banged up secondary, so there is plenty of opportunity for Austin to create some damage as long as he’s on the field.
Though the Rams’ gadget player has capitalized with big plays this season, usage will always remain a concern for fantasy owners. However, he’s seen at least five targets over the past three games. He’ll be a boom-or-bust flex option with upside in PPR formats.
