Cleveland Browns tight end Gary Barnidge is listed as probable for Sunday's matchup with the St. Louis Rams.
Gary Barnidge injury update: TE listed as probable for Browns, fantasy owners
The Browns sleeper-to-keeper tight end popped up on Week 7’s injury report. We break down the fantasy implications.
Barnidge popped up on Wednesday’s injury report after practicing at a limited capacity due to an ankle injury. However, the breakout tight end got in full sessions on Thursday and Friday and is not considered to be in danger of missing Sunday’s inter-conference matchup. The “probable” designation gives Barnidge a virtual certainty to suit up without any concern.
Fantasy impact: Among tight ends with at least five games played, Barnidge trails only Rob Gronkowski in fantasy points per game among tight ends. As a result, fantasy owners should have no trepidation in placing the 30-year-old veteran into their lineups, even at less than 100 percent.
Barnidge boasts a 27/413/5 line through six games, and has become a must-start in leagues of all formats. This remains the case on Sunday against a Rams defense that was bested this season by Jimmy Graham and Jordan Reed earlier in the season.
