New York Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle is listed as probable on his team's injury report.
Rueben Randle injury update: WR listed as probable for Giants, fantasy owners
Rueben Randle will likely play despite a lingering hamstring injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Randle suffered a hamstring injury during Week 5's win over the San Francisco 49ers, but returned for Week 6. However, in that matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, Randle played at a limited capacity and totaled just 44 yards from five catches.
The Giants held Randle out of practice on Wednesday, and he returned to a limited capacity on Thursday. Despite the “probable” designation, it’s clear that Randle is not yet at 100 percent.
Fantasy impact: With the Giants thin at receiver behind him and Odell Beckham, Jr., it’s easy to see why the team would do everything in its power to get Randle onto the field. However, fantasy owners should not approach their lineup in the same way the Giants do, and Randle would be best suited for the bench for Week 7.
Luckily, with Randle dealing with this injury for multiple weeks, owners have had time to research contingency plans and should have no issue finding a capable WR3 for Sunday. Randle is still worth stashing, but Week 7 doesn’t provide much optimism for a fantasy breakout.
