Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle may face disciplinary action from the NFL after violating the league's personal conduct policy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Todd Archer.
Joseph Randle facing 1-2 game suspension, falling off fantasy radar
Joseph Randle’s season outlook becomes more bleak with a possible suspension looming. We break down the fantasy implications.
Randle could be suspended 1-2 games for an incident in February where he was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a domestic violence call. According to the police report, Randle threatened his girlfriend with a gun while their son was nearby, and also broke a car window. Charges were dropped in April, but Randle still faces discipline from the league.
Fantasy impact: In wake of this, as well as Randle not reporting to a rehab session for his oblique injury, the chances of Randle contributing meaningful snaps in the second half of the season look slim. Randle was already set to miss time from his injury, and if the suspension is tacked on to that, he isn’t likely to see much of the team’s backfield duties anytime soon.
Darren McFadden appears entrenched as the Cowboys' starter for the foreseeable future with Christine Michael expected to spell the veteran. McFadden remains a RB2 for Week 8 and beyond after proving he still has gas left in the tank during Week 7's loss to the New York Giants. Randle isn't yet ready to be dropped, but he will quickly get to that point if this trajectory continues.
