New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker returned to practice on Thursday, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post.
Eric Decker will practice Thursday for Jets, presents solid fantasy value for Week 8
The Jets’ No. 2 wideout will return to practice on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Decker sat out on Wednesday due to a knee bruise that he had suffered against the New England Patriots, and he has subsequently been limited in practice. Wednesday's absence should be interpreted as a routine rest day instead of any indication of concern, and the veteran receiver is on track to suit up for Week 8.
Fantasy impact: Knee injuries aren't things Decker hasn't been accustomed to after spraining his PCL in Week 2 and he can now add a contusion to the list. Despite being nicked up over the course of the season, Decker has averaged the 26th-most fantasy points per game among wide receivers, putting him at the WR2/WR3 range. He's proven himself as a high floor, low ceiling receiver over the course of the season, and that remains the case for Week 8 against the Oakland Raiders.
The Raiders’ secondary has only allowed two touchdowns to wide receivers in 2015, but yardage opportunities should be there, as evidenced by the 1,102 yards they’ve given up to other wideouts. As a result, Week 8 presents another solid matchup for Decker and his owners.
