Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson sat out Thursday's practice, according to ESPN's Ben Goessling.
Adrian Peterson sits Thursday’s practice, remains a fantasy RB1 for Sunday
The Vikings’ featured back has popped up on the injury report for bizarre reasons in 2015, but appears ready to go for Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Peterson also missed Wednesday’s session as the team manages his reps for Sunday. The veteran is nursing hip, ankle and finger injuries, but is fully expected to suit up on Sunday. Per Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Peterson said that he could “handle whatever,” even if he was asked to carry the ball 40 times.
Fantasy impact: It doesn’t sound like Peterson’s fantasy owners have anything to worry about, although it would be more reassuring if he took the practice field in some capacity during Friday’s session. Peterson doesn’t necessarily need to practice to play, but it would boost his chances of suiting up significantly if he did.
Peterson firmly remains in the top-five conversation among fantasy running backs against a middling Chicago Bears run defense. Barring anything unforeseen, he will get the start once again while Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata will play minimal roles.
