Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown missed practice on Thursday with a hamstring injury and it appears he is in danger of missing the team’s Week 8 game against the Cleveland Browns, according to beat writer Darren Urban. Brown caught four passes for 65 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens last week.
John Brown misses practice on Thursday, fantasy start for Sunday appearing highly questionable
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown isn’t looking like he’ll be ready to play this week after missing practice on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: During the preseason, it seemed as though teammate Larry Fitzgerald was praising Brown, anointing him as the next big thing in the Cardinals’ offense. He’s been solid this year but it’s actually Fitzgerald who has seen his career go through a bit of a resurgence.
Brown though has put together three straight solid efforts and does indeed appear to be hitting his stride. Last week’s numbers were steady, the week before that saw 10 catches for 196 yards, and the week before that saw 73 yards and a touchdown. It’s been a pretty good month for Brown.
That’s why it’s kind of disheartening that he may not be able to play this Sunday. It appears as if fantasy owners may have to look elsewhere, although coach Bruce Arians hasn’t completely ruled Brown out just yet. Time will tell whether he gets the nod. Practicing first would be ideal. If Brown doesn’t play, it will benefit Michael Floyd.
