Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith is practicing Friday, according to The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec.
Steve Smith practices Friday, remains fantasy WR1/WR2 option for Week 8
The Ravens can’t afford losing Steve Smith due to injury again, and it appears he will suit up for Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.
Smith was added to the injury report on Thursday due to a knee injury. However, the act of him returning to the practice field one day later suggests it isn’t serious and keeps him on track for suiting up on Sunday.
Every game is a must-win game for the 1-6 Ravens, and having all hands on-deck will be needed if they are to have any chance of saving their season.
Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners will always need to keep a close eye on Smith’s health, as his 35-year-old frame is suspect to wear and tear even though he continues to play closer to a 25-year-old’s level.
Smith already missed time with a back injury, and a mid-week injury only decreases a player’s chances of playing on Sunday.
It appears, though, that in this case, Smith and his fantasy owners have dodged a bullet and can continue to expect him to suit up amid a juicy matchup with the San Diego Chargers at home.
Smith remains in the mix for WR1/WR2 numbers even at less than 100 percent health.
