Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas has yet to make his debut in teal and black due to a hand injury, but is making strides toward taking the field.
Julius Thomas catching passes in practice, still not cleared for Jaguars, fantasy owners
Good news came out of Jaguars headquarters on Wednesday regarding their tight end. We break down the fantasy implications.

Thomas practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, per Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. This is something the former Denver Bronco had been doing for weeks, but for the first time since his injury, he caught passes. It had been speculated that Thomas could return as early as Week 4, but with its passing, Week 6 has been a widely talked about target date instead.
Fantasy impact: No one expects the Thomas to put up the numbers in Jacksonville that he did in Denver, but the entire scope of fantasy football should be monitoring Thomas’ return. With the tight end position dwindling to a select few in terms of viability, Thomas could be on the TE1 radar once he takes the field.
The Week 6 date marks a matchup with a floundering Houston Texans defense, which provides a fantastic matchup for the Jaguars new weapon. With a full week of practice, Thomas would be on the TE1 radar when that matchup occurs.
