Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones doesn't need a reason to be started in fantasy leagues other than "he's Julio Jones," but fantasy owners have extra incentive on Sunday.
Julio Jones presents massive fantasy upside against a hobbled Washington secondary
It’s never a stretch to say “Julio Jones could have a big game on Sunday,” but the factors are ripe for another fabulous outing. We break down the fantasy implications.
Washington will likely be without Chris Culliver and DeAngelo Hall in their secondary, as Culliver recovers from a knee injury and Hall remains sidelined with a toe ailment. Though Culliver's MRI revealed no structural damage, he did not appear to be himself in Week 4's win over the Eagles, as he was tested and beaten throughout the second half.
Neither Hall nor Culliver practiced on Friday, and if neither cornerback can make the start, Bashaud Breeland and Will Blackmon are the top corners on the depth chart.
Fantasy impact: No Jones owner would ever think to bench him in any given matchup, and this is a prime week for him to bounce back from his quietest outing of the season. Even at full strength, it would be quite the challenge for Washington’s secondary to keep up with Jones, but being especially hobbled doesn’t bode well for them on Sunday.
Jones remains in the WR1 conversation, and like every week, he is a prime bet to pace the field in terms of fantasy points. Fantasy owners should have no hesitation starting him.
