Update (12:54 p.m. ET): DeSean Jackson has officially been ruled out for Sunday, per ESPN Radio’s Craig Hoffman.
DeSean Jackson ruled out for Sunday for Washington, fantasy owners
Washington will be without its No. 1 receiver for the fourth straight week. We break down the fantasy implications.
Washington wide receiver DeSean Jackson continues to work back from his hamstring injury suffered in Week 1, but his status for Sunday is unclear. Jackson was wearing sneakers and not participating in individual drills on Friday, according to ESPN's John Keim.
This is especially noteworthy because Jackson was doing these drills on Wednesday and Thursday, and on a day when activity is usually ramped up, Jackson was idle. It’s not damning to his availability on Sunday, but it can’t be seen as an encouraging sign that he will play.
Fantasy impact: With Jordan Reed sitting out practice, Washington finds itself with few pass catchers in what could be a game where they will need to play catch up vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy owners will have to keep an eye out for the inactive reports to surface 90 minutes before kickoff, but it’s likely that Jackson’s owners will have to go with their backup plan for the fourth straight week.
Expect an uptick in targets for Jamison Crowder and Pierre Garcon if Jackson and Reed sit, but the likelihood is that Washington will go run-heavy against a susceptible front-seven in order to keep Julio Jones and company on the sideline.
