Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith is listed as probable on the team's injury report for Sunday's matchup with the San Diego Chargers.
Steve Smith, Sr. injury update: Ravens WR probable for fantasy owners on Sunday
The Ravens are tentatively expected to start their No. 1 receiver on Sunday despite a mid-week injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Smith was listed as limited in Thursday’s practice after suffering a knee injury, but returned to practice at full capacity on Friday. As a result, Smith is expected to suit up on Sunday and man his usual No. 1 receiver duties despite being a late addition to the injury report.
Fantasy impact: Mid-week injuries always require fantasy owners to keep a close eye on a player’s status, but Smith’s should be intact. Even amid a 1-6 season that has already seen Smith miss time due to a back injury, the 36-year-old receiver doesn’t seem likely to keep himself out of games for routine maintenance.
Smith is averaging 11 targets per game and is in line for a high-ceiling afternoon against a Chargers defense that was just carved up by Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders. Smith remains a low-end WR1 with considerable upside in leagues of all formats.
