Alshon Jeffery returns to practice, fantasy outlook growing positive
The Bears’ No. 1 wide receiver returned to practice on Friday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jeffery suffered a groin injury during Wednesday’s practice and was subsequently held out of action on Thursday to receive treatment.
The day of rest appears to have served Jeffery well, as he was able to return to the field in preparation for Week 10's contest against the St. Louis Rams.
Jeffery had already missed four games due to a calf injury earlier in the season.
Fantasy impact: Jeffery’s return to practice is a positive sign that he will be able to take the field once again and be a presence the Bears offense desperately needs.
Over his last three games since returning from a calf injury, Jeffery caught at least eight passes and tallied at least 116 yards a game.
Fantasy owners would be wise to wait until inactive rosters are announced before penning Jeffery into lineups, but his return to practice indicates he is more likely than not to suit up. If that’s the case, Jeffery is squarely in WR1 territory.
