Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was not seen participating in the portion of practice open to the media, according to The Denver Post's Nicki Jhabvala.
Emmanuel Sanders not seen practicing Friday, fantasy status in question
The Broncos’ slot receiver continues to nurse an ankle injury back to health. We break down the fantasy implications.
It would mark the third consecutive practice Sanders has missed due to an ankle injury, which puts a damper on his hopes of suiting up Sunday. It isn't out of the realm of possibility for Sanders to suit up without practicing during the week, but failing to take the field on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday is never a positive sign. Bennie Fowler is in line to get an uptick in snaps if Sanders sits out.
Fantasy impact: It's a messy situation for fantasy owners to deal with, especially since the Broncos don't kick off until 4:25 p.m. ET against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Sanders a likely game-time decision, nine games will have either begun or been completed at the announcement of inactive rosters, likely leaving few options available for his fantasy owners if he doesn't play.
If Sanders suits up, he will be more of a WR2 for Sunday, even amid a dream matchup with the Chiefs. A massive uptick in targets could be expected for Demaryius Thomas due to Sanders' health.
