Denver Broncos tight end Vernon Davis is going to see an expanded role in the team’s offense now that he understands more of the audible language being used on the field, according to beat writer Troy Renck. Davis saw just one target in his Broncos debut last week.
Vernon Davis to see expanded role, fantasy value set to pop
Denver Broncos tight end Vernon Davis is ready to see more action with his new team. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: It’ll be interesting to see what Davis can do with a full set of reps on his new team. Although quarterback Peyton Manning isn’t what he used to be, Davis is certainly happy to be out of San Francisco to say the least. Colin Kaepernick wasn’t exactly playing like an MVP.
What’s even better for Davis is he’ll be playing on a Super Bowl contender that is weak at the tight end position. Neither Owen Daniels nor Virgil Green did anything special before Davis arrived.
Fantasy owners likely added Davis to the lineup as a midseason stash that could pay dividends by the time the fantasy playoffs roll around. It looks like his fantasy value may jump up a lot sooner. While starting Davis against the Chiefs this week may be a bit premature, owners in deeper leagues wouldn’t be totally crazy for taking a chance. It’ll be interesting to see how he does, that’s for sure.
